If you're a fan of fashion blogs as I am, then I would be amazed and disappointed to find out that you didn't know who Jane Aldridge is. If you haven't already bookmarked her site seaofshoes on your browser then hop to it or get off ma blog.
There's no getting around it, this chick knows whats up. At only 17 she is not only a super blogger but a style icon who has managed to grab the attention of hundreds of thousands style savvy guys and gals who follow her religiously. Jane (first name basis??), whose closet consists of pieces by Margiella, Dries Van Noten, Balenciaga and YSL (just to name a few... no big deal), offers up beautiful pictures of herself in her most fabulous outfits along with links and pictures of pieces she hopes to get her hands on.
Additionally, she posts great fashion spreads which more recently have featured HER. Kicking it up a notch, she's caught the eye of Teen Vogue, The Super Melon, Style.com, and Glamour who have all profiled her. She's also worked on a shoe line, collaborating with Urban Outfitters that holds true to her luxurious, kitschy, eclectic and effervescent sense of style.
One thing sticks out: she's not afraid to make mistakes. I think the fusion of her designer and vintage pieces, along with her fearless sense of style, brings about something that is so fresh. The fact that she's seventeen isn't a hindrance, rather it's what allows her to be so free in her fashion decisions.
I think I love her.
